Abby has been cast in the US national tour of
In the Mood, a musical revue of
songs from the 1940s. Along with five other vocalists and a big band orchestra,
Abby will be touring to theatres throughout the United States for six months.

February 2008
After moving to New York City in September 2007, one of the first auditions
Abby went to was for a performing contract with Disney. And, Abby had
a great audition and was offered a contract to be a vocalist in Disney's
Big Band Beat show at Tokyo DisneySea! So, Abby moved to Tokyo, Japan
mid-January 2008, and she will be performing at Tokyo Disney until August
15th, 2008. Abby reports that life in Tokyo and at Disney is "incredible"
so far. In the show, Abby sings and dances to hit jazz standards from
the 1920s through the 1940s. Her show performs 5 times a day in The Broadway
Music Theatre in Tokyo DisneySea. It has always been a dream and goal
of hers to perform for Disney, so Abby proves that dreams do come
true!
November 2007
Abby has been cast as Mrs. Cratchit in the New York Stages production of Scrooge
the Musical. The production will tour in New Hampshire and Arizona in December.
Abby is thrilled to be a part of this musical with such a great company
and cast.
March 2007
Abby's show,
Decades of Broadway, that she created to
perform on cruise ships throughout the world premiered
on March 18 aboard Celebrity Cruise Lines'
Constellation.
With arrangements by Paul McDonald (

she was backed by a 7-piece orchestra and performed for a standing-room only,
packed theatre. The response from the audience
was overwhelming, and Abby is excited that her
guest-entertaining career on ships has started

December 2006
Abby's contract aboard the Constellation is going very well. The four production
shows are a hit with the audience, and she is enjoying her cast, as well as traveling
throughout the caribbean and Mexico. Her favorite ports include Aruba and Cozumel!
Abby is also putting the finishing touches on her one-woman show, Decades
of Broadway, and plans to be in the studio to record the CD in April when
she gets off the ship. Be sure to check back in a few months for more details on

Abby has just signed on to do another 6-month contract aboard the Constellation,
a Celebrity Cruise Line ship, with Gary Musick Productions. She begins rehearsals
mid-September and boards the ship mid-October, where she will be until May
2007. Her last contract was extremely successful, and she is anxious to perform
more aboard Conde Nast Travel Magazine's #1-rated ship in the world. Check out

August 2006
After successful auditions in New York, Abby has been offered the national tour
of Camelot! However, due to previous contract commitments, Abby has
decided to continue performing on the Constellation for a second contract. Also,
best of luck to Abby's brother, Alex Powell, as he heads to Boston, MA. Alex
is beginning his graduate work in music at the New England Conservatory.
